Learning about rhetoric and its relationship with the three schools of thought can be a bit confusing—daunting even—at first. I created this website to serve as a resource for new Rhetoric and Writing students to unpack and explicate how each school of thought (Sophists, Platonics, and Aristotelians) defined and understood rhetoric. I worked to make an interactive text that includes an introduction to rhetoric and the classic rhetoricians and that breaks down each school of thought using a relaxed voice and simplified terms. I included supplemental material such as a timeline of events, charts, infographics, glossary and links.
